Cameroon's chemical sector is currently characterized by a heavy reliance on imported chemical industry raw materials to support its growing manufacturing base. The humid tropical climate, particularly in the South and Littoral regions, creates unique challenges for chemical stability and storage, necessitating specialized formulations for stability.
In the agricultural domain, there is a significant shift toward precision farming. Small-to-medium scale farmers are increasingly seeking organic pesticides for vegetables to meet the rising export standards for European and Asian markets, moving away from broad-spectrum toxicity.
Despite the potential, the supply chain for agro raw materials often faces bottlenecks due to logistical complexities between Douala port and the hinterlands, creating a demand for more efficient, concentrated, and stable chemical precursors.
